Why Do You Get Hungry In Cold Weather.

Ever wondered why restaurants are always cold? That’s because we tend to eat more in cooler environments. Lower temperatures tricks your body into thinking it needs more calories to burn in order to keep your body warm. That is the reason why many people often feels hungry during a cold weather temperature. To normalize the changes in temperature, a lot of  fuel or large energy is required. Therefore, when located in cold areas the body will burn energy more quickly so it makes people feel hungry.

The old saying is, “Feed a cold, starve a fever,” and it’s quite accurate because your body is cranking through those calories as it not only fights your cold, but also tries to keep your body temperature up. Rapid energy burning will make the body sends hunger signals. The same thing happens after swimming. This is because the water used for swimming is usually cooler than the surrounding air.
Physiological hunger is the one which is triggered by the level of energy in your body (or sugar in your blood), and the food in your stomach – the lack of food/energy causes secretion of hunger inducing hormones (such as ghrelin) which tells your brain that your body needs more food.

From psychology view, winter times, and miserable days do make you hungry. It is a fact, this is cos when you are trapped inside and it is raining, you get bord really quickly and have nothing to do and the only thing there is to do is eat. This is simply being bord! Everyone does it but many not realize.
